August 30th, 2016 - Week 2

Here is Griffin's Letter from this week. He sent a few Pictures.

I got your letter and I have seen Brian (our cousin) a couple of times, I've also seen Isaac (Martinez) a bunch. I'm trying to get pictures on to the computer and on to the email, but it is not working. That's really awesome that Campbell started school today, I think he'll like it at the seminary building a lot. Sundays have been really awesome at the MTC so far, two Sundays ago me and my companion sang in the choir for the Nashville Tribute Band, last Sunday we had a devotional. After both of those we had church movies that we watched. My daily routines kind of tiring we get up at 6:30, eat breakfast, go to personal, companion and language study, have language class, eat lunch, go back to class, then eat dinner, go to class until 9:00 then plan for the next day, then back to the residence hall. It's good to hear about how everyone is doing, I think about them everyday. So in the next care package you should send me a Mongolian flag and some dried fruit (they don't serve a lot of fruit in the MTC). I did get your package and the letter, it was really nice to hear from everyone. We stash stuff around like candy and stuff, if that's what you mean. I was also told that sending packages flat rate or by DearElder is cheaper than priority. I'm trying to send you a picture of Mongolian candy I got from some Elders. I'm trying to use the flash drive thing and its not working.

August 23, 2016- Week 1

Hey everyone, this is Griffin's sister Julie. Throughout his mission I am going to be posting emails and pictures that we get from him. His P-days are Tuesdays while he is in the MTC. He will be there until the end of October. If you want to send him a letter or a package full of candy his address is:

Elder Griffin Hughes Hansen
OCT27 MON-ULA
2005 N 900 E Unit 245
Provo, UT 84602

Once he leaves the MTC, I will be posting the addresses of where he is if you want to send him a letter. If you want to send him an email, the address he will be using is griffin.hansen@myldsmail.net

Here is Griffin's first email:

I'm pretty good, the language is a little frustrating because its so different from English in like every way, and it feels like I'm not making like tons of progress but I'm only a week in. Me and Elder Udall (my companion) have been teaching this investigator in Mongolian over the past week, we've gotten her to start praying and reading the Book of Mormon, so we know that much Mongolian. My roommates are pretty cool, but they are leaving today. It was really funny because they're also going to Mongolia and one of them is named Elder Okamoto and he pretended like he was a native to Mongolia the whole first day we were here, so he only spoke in Mongolian the whole day but he was just pranking us and told us the next day that he's actually from Hawaii.
Everyone is excited to go to Mongolia, its just that we're not sure yet how we're going to survive the MTC, the food is okay but it gets to you after a little while, its pretty heavy. The classes are fun, we definitely don't focus as much as the teachers want us to but we're learning and I think that's probably the most important part. Its weird cause everyday you can feel the spirit at certain parts of the day, and its really cool. The days at first were pretty long and tiring, but they've gotten a lot faster and a lot less tiring. I'll send some pictures the first chance I get. Love all you.
