January 31st, 2017 - Week 25

Here is what we got from Griffin this week.

Yeah this week it was pretty slow, right now we have 2 people on date for baptism but those are all the way in March. We did a lot of finding, what was really awesome was that we found a new investigator. My whole time in Smithfield my companion had been telling me about how this area had no non members living in it, so we went on exchanges and me and elder ichin went treating in this neighborhood and we knocked on a non members doors who had never met with missionaries and knows nothing about the church, and she accepted us teaching her and her 2 children. So slowly but surely we're making progress.

January 23rd, 2017 - Week 24

Here is what we got from Griffin this week.

I'm doing really good. Smithfield is a little more like how I imagined Utah to be, like 90% members. The work here is really slow because we only cover 3 wards and they're all only a few blocks in size. There's this one ward that only has five nonmembers living in its boundaries. My companion has been here for two transfers and this will be his third, so he's got the area pretty mapped out. He also hasn't had a Baptism here yet. My new companion's named elder Rivera, he's pretty cool, he's originally from Puerto Rico and when he was 4 he moved to Massachusetts and he grew up there most of his life. He's been out for 13 months, and he's pretty experienced. So our apartment is actually not in our area, but it's a pretty nice apartment, not quite as nice as the last one, it's just missing a washer and dryer. We don't have a car in our area, but it's all good cause it would be wasted if we had one, we'd never use it. The best thing that's happened this week is actually a family back in coldwater got baptized named the Aarons, who me and elder Bower meet put on date for the 21 and taught all the lesson to, they only needed a baptismal interview. So low key I'm counting them as people who I helped to convert, my names just not their baptism record. The last picture totally looks like Ronald Reagan driving! We do at the senior couples house, yeah those were deer in our yard, they also live the cemetery.

January 16th, 2017 - Week 23

Here is what we got from Griffin this week:

I'm doing good, tomorrow is transfers and I'm getting transferred to Smithfield which is barely in Utah at the northern part of the state. I'm super excited but I don't yet how I'm going to get there yet. Smithfield 284186111 Rivera/Hansen 495 Parkview Cir, Smithfield, UT 84335. I leave tomorrow morning for my new zone. No I haven't heard anything.(About his visa) Yeah he's in my new zone. (MTC companion) The baptism was awesome!

January 9th, 2017 - Week 22

Here is what we got from Griffin this week.

It's been going pretty good. Hey I have a favor to ask of you. Will you look online and find a recipe for spam, rice, and eggs together, I think they're stir fried. Could you email it me as soon as possible? Alright thank you so much. So I got this email last night, sister shreeve and mason were in my MTC district; 

Hey Elders! How are you!? How is Utah!? I just wanted to see how you both are doing? We all miss you lots here and cant wait for you to come! I am sorry everything is taking so long to workout! But you will be here in no time! How was your Christmas? How was your New Year?! How are your families!? Elder Hansen I have been told to inform you that Sister Hansen (sister Mason Comp) was informed that her Christmas Package was at the post office so she went to get it. It turns out it was your Christmas Package. They had to go through it because that's what they have you do here to check if anything is missing. They realized it was not hers, but asked if they could take it, because it belonged to their friend. They let them. So Sister Mason has your Package! Well friends! I hope all is well! I hope you are staying warm! Merry Christmas!!

January 2nd, 2017 - Week 21

Here is Griffin's letter for this week:

So this week was pretty productive for a holiday week. On Saturday our zone had an activity for new years, it was fun we had it at one of our buildings, we had a nerf war, watched kung fu panda 3, and played basketball. So before that my companion and I had to set up the building before that. So we were setting up and this guy walked up to the building and stood outside. We went outside to do some stuff and he asked if we were missionaries, of course we said yes. And he asked to talk with us so went inside the church with him. We sat down in the lounge and started  talking. He was 15 and lived in Roy, and had walked all the way to North Ogden. He had been kicked out of his house after getting in a fight with his mom's boyfriend. He told us about his life, and it was pretty wild. We tried to teach him a lesson, but his ride arrived and he had to go. But he said that he wanted to learn more and that he would come to church next Sunday. It's really awesome because me and elder Bower have been struggling with getting new investigators, and on New years Eve someone walked up to us and wanted to learn. This week has just been really fun overall and really awesome!
